The primary goal of the Richmond Youth Jazz Guild is supported by three supplemental objectives:

 

• To provide in-depth training in the music discipline 

• To provide students with skills necessary for successful careers in music

• To assist students in developing an understanding of excellence 

 

Created and directed by acclaimed Jazz Composer/Pianist, Ashby Anderson, the Richmond Youth Jazz Guild has impacted over 250 students in the Richmond area. Since 2008, students have received over $1.6 MILLION in educational scholarship through their participation national performing arts programs: JALC Summer Jazz Academy, Young Arts, Berklee Five Week and Grammy Camp.
